Object of the Game:
In the least moves, figure out who the murderer is, by exchanging cards.
and avoiding getting killed!
IMPORTANT!: Players must never reveal their characters ID!
Fellow players could ban them from getting their "Block out" card or
Mr. / Mrs. Spade could kill them!
Points:
4 Players alive 4 points
3 Players alive 3 points
2 Players alive 2 points
1 Player alive 1 point
(Murderer gets 1 point per kill)
If a player accidently reveals the murderer (after receiving the death card)
It is said that "the murderer got away",and the round ends.
If the murderer accidently reveals himself/herself the next player (to the right)
may claim the point value.
Game movement is played in a clockwise order.
Each player tries to get a "Block Out" by collecting all of the same suit cards.
Eg. Mr. Club wants to have an "A 2 3 4 K Q J"
If a player has all his / her suit cards he / she may call "BLOCK"
this means this player no longer need to draw cards (they have all their matching cards)
if a player forgets to call "BLOCK" before drawing a card he / she must play out the drawn card.
if the player draws the "Kill Spade", the player is DEAD!. (even if they were going out on the next turn.)
A "BLOCKED" player cannot be killed
Game Begins with 36 cards (yes you have to take out the 36 cards out of the 52)
these are the family cards
Attack/block cards Null cards
Hearts [A 2 3 4] [6 8] [J Q K]
Diamonds [A 2 3 4] [6 8] [J Q K]
Clubs [A 2 3 4] [6 8] [J Q K]
Spade [A 2 3 4] [6 8] [J Q K]
shuffle the 36 cards together and deal them out.
Each player receives 7 cards each.
the remainder of the deck is faced down in the middle of the table.
If a player collects more than one King (or Queen for Girls) He / She
May choose which ever suit they want.
Eg Tom received a King of hearts AND a King of Clubs, (so he chooses Clubs to be his suit)
But!, if the player is dealt, (or draws) a high card [J Q K] of SPADES (K Male Q Female)
They must Chose the Spade card! (if the high card was put back in the draw deck ,
it would take much longer to reveal the murderer.)
Player Movement:
1: Player takes one card from draw pile OR player accuses other player of MURDER!
remember if you draw your final "BLOCK" card you mist wait till your next turn,
to call "BLOCK"
If the card is 6 or an 8, you may keep it or place it in the discard.
If the card you draw is a family card or BLOCK card (of your suit) , you should keep it.
If the card is A 2 3 4 of Spades... your dead buddy!
important!: if YOU are the murderer (own a high suit of SPADES) and you draw a A 2 3 4
you are NOT dead (the Murderer cannot be killed with his / her own suit)
To make the game even more interesting, If you are Mr./Mrs. Heart, Mr./Mrs. Diamond, or
Mr./Mrs. Club. you must stay in for the Spade number drawn.
Eg Mrs. Heart draws a 3 of SPADE, Mrs. heart is now DEAD, but Mrs. Heart cannot reveal
that she has been murdered till 3 of here turns have passed.
(A = 1 turn, 2 = two Turns, 3 = Three turns, and 4 = Four Turns)
on the turn of DEATH the player does NOT draw, he / she simply says "I'm Dead!"
When a player is declared DEAD the player places his / her six cards on the used card pile.
DO NOT put the SPADE card back in the return pile!
you must Place the SPADE card FACE DOWN in front of you.
If you did not draw a card, and wish to ACCUSE a player, (you must do this before drawing, or going to the next player)
also to ACCUSE you MUST have ALL your Family Cards [A 2 3 4 6 8 J Q K]
To ACCUSE a Player you would Say this line.
"I know ---players name--- Is Mr. / Mrs. Spade, The Murderer!"
when you ACCUSE a player of MURDER you then reveal all your cards in your hand.
If your Accusation is Correct And You don't have any SPADE cards in your Hand,
you score the number of points to the number of player still alive (yes including the MURDERER,
and yourself)
The first Player to reach 16 points, wins the game!
this about 4 to 16 rounds.
If you turn over your cards in an accusation and you have a SPADE card you are DEAD.
if you don't have all your FAMILY cards yet, Your DEAD!
If you draw a card, you cannot ACCUSE a player of MURDER.
if you draw a card, and it's a SPADE (instead of an accusation) your DEAD!
If you WRONGLY ACCUSE a player of being the MURDERER, you are DEAD! (you only get one chance, detective!)
if the MURDERER gets caught, but the MURDERER has all of his / her FAMILY cards,
he / She gets to keep their MURDER POINTS.
if The MURDERER does NOT get caught... he / she gets their MURDER POINTS * 2!!!
When A player is accused of being the MURDERER, the ACCUSED must reveal their cards,
but ONLY TO THE ACCUSER (this is so they may remain in the game if falsely accused)
if the ACCUSED player is dying, he / she must reveal that they are dead!
(even if they still have turns left)
a player who is about to die, in 1 to 4 moves cannot accuse the other players.
if the ACCUSER and the ACCUSED both have a SPADE card (A 2 3 4)
both players are considered DEAD.
LUCKY BREAK
If a player Who is on "DEATH ROW"
a player who draws a 2 3 4 (excluding the ACE) and picks up yet another SPADE card,
(A 2 3 4 of SPADE) both death cards are NULLIFIED. the LUCKY player must reveal
the two SPADE cards (drawn card first, then the holding card)
(they should NOT reveal any other cards!)
The two SPADE cards are then put back into the return pile.
(this is the only time that SPADES are returned to the pile)
NOTE: for the remainder of the game this player (who drew 2 SPADE CARDS)
can only hold six cards (for the extra SPADE he / she gave up.)
this player cannot get a "BLOCK"
"so you are probably asking your self "do I feel lucky" , well do ya?"
2: If you draw a card you must discard one card. (you are only allowed a maximum of 7 cards.
It is a good idea to keep a card if it is one of your "FAMILY" cards.
(remember if you draw a SPADE card you HAVE TO KEEP IT!)
An MURDERED player receives NO POINTS.
3: next player go to #1
