Caliper bolt upgrades
You never know what you're going to get with a used bike. In this case, I inherited non-OEM caliper bolt situation that was working ok, but we wanted to make safer. The mechanic did the harder ones, and I researched the easier ones. Here's some of my research. So even if the pictures don't make sense, some of them are kind of cool in a dramatic type of way.

Winter heavy work
I wanted to get a head start and have it all ready to ride in the spring. So I made early arrangements with a mechanic to do the work that I could not in the off-season.

Tachometer Fix
When a spider got into the tachometer and secured the needle with a reinforced web, I had to get creative.
Whoever had this thing apart before me, did a horrible job and had to glue it back together
The tachometer is sealed from the front, and there was no way I was getting in from the back like the spider did.
So after using a magnafying glass and the good old sun to try to melt the web strands through the glass
I had to drill through the front of the glass and use a paper clip to break the web.
Then I sealed everything back up nice and neat.

New Fuse Box
When the old copper clamps were too brittle to hold the fuses, Advanced Auto had the perfect replacement.

New Chain and Sprockets
Makes for a much smoother ride. They recommend you replace the sprockets, too, with a well worn chain.
